Stamp Out Hunger

Throughout the year, Friends of El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank decide to make a difference in their own way, hosting a variety of different types of events in order to support the food bank! Hosting a special event can be a great way to volunteer your time and talents and express your support in your own special way. Call the food bank to get more details on how you can host your own event!

Food Drives are often a component of these awesome events. If you are interested in learning more about food drives of want to find a location to donate food during a food drive event, visit our food drive page.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at El Pasoans Fighting Hunger. Your willingness to give yourself to help your neighbors in need is significantly valued. During our Stamp Out Hunger event, volunteers will assist in our warehouse unloading food from letter carrier trucks and into our warehouse. Children 12 and 14 must be accompanied by an adult, adult to child ration will be 1 adult per 8 children. Absolutely no babies or strollers allowed in our warehouse. New volunteers must fill out a volunteer application form, previous volunteers only need to sign in.

Types of Volunteer Work:
Unloading: Volunteers will assist with unloading donated food from Letter Carrier trucks.
Sort Food: Volunteers will assess and sort boxes of food items and household products that have been donated. Pre-sort, repack, re-label all to prepare for our partner agencies to distribute the food.
Food sorting and unload requirements: Lift up to 40 lbs, stand long periods of time, bending and reading small print.
